Hit them hard and see how they fall

the wankers at OhioState have been kind enough to (mostly) erase the memory of the CU scandal from the public consciousness. At CU, we get recruits laid, or at least a nice B to the E effect with strippers. But, they have to go to class. A real class. Not a class taught by the football coach. And, they have to get their own damn selves to class – walk, bike, whatever. At OSU, its all freebies (cars, furniture, $$) and cynical academic sellouts designed only to keep the players eligible. “Sorry Mr. Katzenmoyer, but your OSU classes in advanced basket weaving for jocks and cleat replacement 101 will not transfer here at Columbus Community College.” Not like this is anything new at OSU (1, 2(OSU apologist))…

Enough is enough

Successful academic reform … requires presidential leadership.  There are strong forces driving athletics programs toward better and better athletics performance. That is understandable and good: athletics is about winning. But it is essential that the response to these forces be made in a wider context of the mission of universities and colleges, which first and foremost are academic institutions. The champion for this mission must be the university president

  1. “Hit them hard and see how they fall ” is part of the lyrics to one of those freakish bucknut songs that the OSU band won’t stop playing. Turnabout is fair play.
