Creator of turbo beer tap foaming with success

CHICAGO – Matthew Younkle’s dream as a college senior was a better beer tap. Ten years later, Younkle is helping to draw a fast one with his TurboTap.

The finger-sized nozzle attaches to standard beer taps and pours a draft brewskie at least twice fast as the usual way. The Wall Street Journal reports Younkle’s company has installed about 1,000 TurboTaps at bars, restaurants and ballparks, including Wrigley Field, where the Chicago Cubs play.

It works by lessening the impact of the beer on the bottom of the cup or glass, reducing the foam and the need to slow the flow of the brew. Younkle says he created the TurboTap with a lot of R & D, which he calls research and drinking
