Paradise Lost

Mercury Cougar prototype
The never was Cougar

2003 Mercury Messenger Concept –

As much as we’d like to say that Ford spent a few hundred million giving Mercury a much-needed halo car instead of shuttering the brand entirely, it didn’t happen and the reality is that the eight generation of the Mercury Cougar went on to be the last non-Ford-based automobile ever to roll off the showroom floor. “Messenger” would have been a fine name as well.  Just Sayin’.

Gonzo di Dottore [Ed.: He's not a real doctor. Or Italian.] is a noted author, poet, photographer and bon vivant. Or was that savant? It's hard to tell sometimes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high-powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die
