LOCAL REAL ESTATE FIRM ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR DOWNTOWN MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Phoenix Properties today announced its plans for a signature
mixed-use office, retail and residential development at the southeast corner of West
Michigan Avenue and Rose Street in downtown Kalamazoo. The yet-to-be-named development is designed to be eight stories and approximately 200,000 total square feet, and will be built on one of the most prominent development parcels in downtown Kalamazoo.

This is currently a parking lot. Jim Gilmore owned for a long time, and used to bloviate about plans to put an office tower here. I am all for this, don’t get me wrong.  That lot has been a pricey (on a BK Lounge salary) eyesore since the days when I used to frequent the Kalamazoo Center book store.
